What does therapy with me look like?

Therapy is a place for you to be yourself, which means that therapy is going to look a little different for everyone. Sometimes, “being yourself” includes bringing along past wounds and hurts that show up in the present as painful emotions, unhelpful patterns, and conflicting desires. You might have a general idea of where you want to go from here, or you might feel lost and even hopeless about finding a way out.

No matter where you’re at and what you bring, I’m here to listen to your story, help you untangle its many parts, and build a way forward towards healing and growth.

Relational, attachment-based, human-centered therapy.

As a relational therapist, my priority is that you feel safe and comfortable in our sessions together. Whether online or in-person, I prioritize providing a warm, non-judgmental space for you to be yourself, to make mistakes, and to progress at your own pace.

As an attachment-based therapist, I believe that much of our current relationship patterns are informed by early relationships and attachment styles. These are not permanent, and healing comes from new, right relationships with others and with ourselves.

As a human-centered therapist, I believe that you know what is best for you and that have the inherent ability to achieve your goals. You are the main character of your story, and it is just my privilege to help along the way.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor who believes that humans are made for relationship and connection, I recognize the importance of integrating spirituality in counseling and working from a faith-based perspective. Wherever you are in your journey, we can remain curious and grounded in how faith sees a way forward.

Spiritual Abuse/Religious Trauma

I also provide therapy for those healing from spiritual abuse, religious trauma, and imposed, overbearing feelings of shame. When churches and institutions fail, our anger and sorrow demand witness and justice. Therapy is a place where we can gently and intentionally work through the entangled web of religious messages and complex emotions, and reconstruct how we see and relate to the world.
